Ken Wright – Jekyll Island Foundation

Ken Wright

Director / Finance Committee

Ken Wright is an “almost” Georgia native who grew up in Dunwoody, Georgia, and attended the University of Georgia, where he earned his degree in Political Science with a minor in Criminal Justice.

As a businessman, Ken Wright has been in the healthcare field his entire career. He began as a salesman for a manufacturer of anesthesia and respiratory devices and equipment, moving to the healthcare software side in 1997. As an entrepreneur, Mr. Wright founded his first company, K2 Healthcare Information Technologies in 1998, which merged with NetLearning, Inc. in 2000 and subsequently sold to Thomson Delmar Learning in 2004. In 2005, Wright founded eHealthcareIT, a healthcare-focused eLearning, learning, and talent management company. In March of 2013, Mr. Wright sold eHealthcareIT to NetDimensions, an International Learning and Talent Management software firm. More recently, Mr. Wright founded Durable Compliance, LLC, and serves as President.

As a community volunteer, Wright served on the executive board of one of the largest and most powerful Homeowners Associations in the country, the Dunwoody Homeowners Association in 2001 and 2002 before leading it as president in 2003, 2004, and 2005. He was the longest running President of the DHA in its storied 30-plus year history.

In 2006, Wright was asked to lead and become Chairman of Citizens For Dunwoody, a 501(c)3 organization tasked with researching, vetting, and subsequently organizing all aspects of the incorporation of the community of Dunwoody, Georgia. In 2008, after a three year legislative battle, Citizens For Dunwoody was able to secure for the residents of Dunwoody a July 2008 vote on incorporation. More than 81% of the voting citizens elected to incorporate Dunwoody and thus form the City of Dunwoody, Georgia’s newest and 13th largest city. He was then elected as Dunwoody’s first Mayor, a position in which he thrived in realizing residents’ vision for their new municipality.

Mr. Wright is a member of The Dunwoody Rotary and calls Jekyll Island his home away from home. Ken and his wife Terri have two school-age children, Cassidy and Clayton.
